Today I went to hang some of our recessed panel doors on the front of this 5000 sf home in Eastman, NH, which we have been working on for about a year....and while I did get the tracks done the doors will not be installed until tomorrow since they needed to be sealed in the heated garage today. I did have a chance to visit with our wonderful client and take a bunch of pictures of the interior...with the gorgeous kitchen all done, appliances up and running, radiant heat in the wood appearing tile floors and run up and down the half dozen staircases.... 8-)
One of the unique features is the Lexan cupola floor with the enclosed staircase accessing it 30' above the living room floor below...quite a view for the not so faint of heart who arrive there--and Hew Hampshire Heaven for the grandchildren. Another feature is the stunning "map wall" as well as the library and reading room at the top of yet another staircase....again...mostly designed to be "the coolest place on earth" for kids--young and old alike. I would be a good testimony to this since I started out taking a few pictures and then just got carried away--which is why you have the unusual quantity of 20 attachments here.
It has taken us a long time--we had a long, rough winter but had the shell done in 3-4 months....but then the trades and interiors and change orders all took some special care and focus...and now the clients are mostly moved and settling in to the home they have dreamed of for many years. We are grateful they allowed us to become an integral part of that...a place where I was welcome today.
It has been a very good year for us--thanks to so many amazing clients such as these. It has also been a hard year with incessant travel and my Mom passing this October 19th--with our family's grief only surpassed by the sheer ocean of having lived in her abundant love. In so many ways--that is a palpable description of this entire year--for which I thank you each--being a part.
